It seems that since VW's head of electric powertrain technology said the e-Up! is deliberately positioned against the BMW i3, there have been a bunch of these sorts of comparisons popping up around the internet.

I think the e-Up! isn't really competing with the i3, other than it's a cheaper electric vehicle option. However, I can't see it pulling any extra customers away from the i3 because there are already other options like the Leaf and Mitsubishi i-Miev, Citroen and Renault options that are more directly competing with the i3 according to cost and size etc.
